ITRC Teams Train in Alaska

(May 14, 2019) The ITRC PFAS and PVI teams each held one day training events in Fairbanks and Anchorage, Alaska April 23 through April 26. The teams were invited by the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation to perform these training workshops, and were funded in part by the US Air Force.

The PVI team held an interactive and fast paced training, covering a variety of topics including: PVI Basics, Site Screening, Site Investigation, as well as Modeling and Vapor Control. They effectively used case studies to drive home their key messages.

The PFAS training, led by state regulators, industry leaders, and pioneers in PFAS research, provided a comprehensive overview of all things PFAS. Among the topics covered were: site characterization, sampling and analysis, treatment technologies, and toxicity and risk assessment. They also included a local case study, presented by a member of the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation.

The Fairbanks and Anchorage trainings were well attended and well received. Thank you to all who attended the event and contributed to its success! Please visit our PFAS and PVI Training webpage to view other upcoming training workshops.
