Presented by the ITRC Risk Assessment Resource Team
Kennebunkport, Maine
October 6-8, 2008

The Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council (ITRC) Risk Assessment Resource Team hosted the ARAMS ™ /SADA Technology Transfer Workshop on October 6-8, 2008 in Kennebunkport, Maine.

This workshop was designed to increase awareness of available risk assessment tools.   Workshop participants learned to use two of these available tools: ARAMS ™ (Adaptive Risk Assessment Modeling System) and SADA (Spatial Analysis and Decision Assistance).

The workshop incorporated on-site ARAMS ™ and SADA training sessions, including hands-on applications of case study scenarios. Workshop training sessions focused on the broad applicability of the tools rather than on a specific element.

The workshop was free and open to anyone interested in learning to use the ARAMS ™ and SADA software.   Participants received hands-on tutorials with software experts in group breakout sessions.   This workshop was suited for a variety of audiences, including:

  • Statisticians
  • Risk assessors
  • GIS users
  • Project managers
  • Related stakeholders

Benefits to Workshop Participants

Participants gained practice using the ARAMS ™ and SADA tools. They gained enough knowledge and hands-on experience to begin applying and using models at their sites. Participants had the opportunity to meet with other risk assessors and risk assessment software users from across the country and around the world.
